Deanship of Scientific Research (DSR)

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Deanship of Scientific Research (DSR) at Aqaba Medical Sciences University (AMSU). Our deanship is committed to advancing a dynamic and responsible research environment that reflects the aspirations of our growing institution. Building on the university’s broader direction, we have adopted the DSR strategic vision, which remains fully aligned with AMSU’s ambition for scientific and research excellence.

The DSR vision guides every initiative we undertake and shapes the priorities through which we support our researchers, students, and partners. It reflects our strategic vision of:

Leadership in applied medical and health scientific research dedicated to local and regional community service, while strengthening the international position of the university.

To realize this vision, the DSR is focused on establishing solid research governance, strengthening ethical standards, and ensuring clarity in all policies related to publishing, intellectual property, and project management. We are committed to optimizing institutional resources and encouraging collaborative, applied research that responds to the real needs of local and regional communities. By promoting high quality scientific publishing, broadening international cooperation, and actively encouraging our researchers to pursue national, regional, and international research grants, we aim to expand research capacity and enhance the global visibility of AMSU.

A central element of our future direction is the development of a shared research facility capable of supporting advanced experimental, molecular, and applied studies. This infrastructure will serve as a platform for ambitious projects and foster an environment of scientific integration across the university. Students, too, are at the core of our mission. Through structured research groups and supervised projects that may lead to publication, we strive to cultivate a new generation of researchers equipped with the skills and values essential for scientific inquiry.

We continue to build strategic partnerships with hospitals, research centers, governmental institutions, and international universities. These collaborations enable the exchange of expertise, access to clinical data, and opportunities for competitive research funding. At the same time, we remain committed to engaging with the local community and private sector by providing applied research solutions and professional consultations that reflect our role as a contributor to health and societal development in Aqaba and beyond.

As we move forward, I am confident that the collective dedication of our faculty, researchers, students, and partners will enable the DSR to play a leading role in advancing the university’s mission and strengthening its position locally, regionally, and internationally.
